"No JVM could be found on your system..."
 
I am working with Mirth 3.4.1. After upgrading to java 8, mirth server manager won't start.

I get the following error: "No JVM found on your system. Please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed 64-bit JDK or JRE download"

I have already tried redirecting environment variables for EXE4J_Java_HOME to the directory where the java.exe file lives. I still get the same error. Has anybody else encountered this problem?

You might be having different conflicting Java installed on the same machine. You need to keep only one, depending on whether your machine is 32 bit or 64 bit. You need to remove others.

Things you can check

1) Control Panel -> Add remove programs -> Java line items. Keep only 1, the latest is java 1.8.0_91
2) Control Panel -> Java -> Java -> java run time variables.
3) If there are any existing JRE inside the c:\Program Files x86\Java folder.
4) If none of this work, do a clean install of Java.
