loop through XML file to create separate files of each row of data from the original

I've been search through all the threads to try to find a way to create a loop for an xml file that has multiple records.

I need to break out each record into it's own single file to be converted later to an hl7 message.

Could anyone get me started on how to do a "for each loop for this?"

Basically, how to loop through each record, and then write a file with that record.

Any help would be great to get started!
