Exclamation Rename fails: File already there

Mirth Connect Version: 2.2.2.6388

I have a channel with synchronization checked.
The polling frequency is 90000.
Delete File After Read: NO
Move-to Directory: is set

The source is SFTP at a remote SFTP server.

We read the file, process it (insert the XML into a database table), and are then done.

The file gets renamed ("move to") to the proper place.

And yet:

The channel seems to pick up the same file again, process it again, and attempt to rename it (which cases a Java traceback in the server log).

I don't understand this behavior.

If synchronization is set, and the rename happens when the work is done, why would Mirth pick up the file again?

This is creating duplicates in my database, and what seem to me to be unexpected errors.
