Default (s)ftp channel reader doesn't notice 0KB files

Hey people,
one of our clients noticed the following:

0KB files don't trigger the (s)ftp channel reader for action.
Our channel does read files bigger than that, so the connection parameters are valid.
We need to read all files, even the empty ones, as the presence of files signifies work to be done
Mirth version is

Is there a setting that we failed to set?
is it a feature?
what would you all recommend?

Thanks for your time/help

Zero byte files work fine for me, even in 2.2.3. Most likely you have a configuration error, or you're not reading from the directory/sever that you think you are, or something.

Make sure that the file age is correct, and that the filenames abide by the filename filter pattern you have set. Also if you have "Ignored . files" enabled and the filenames start with a ".", then obviously they won't be picked up.

Always include what Mirth Connect version you're working with. Also include (if applicable) the code you're using and full stacktraces for errors (use CODE tags). Posting your entire channel is helpful as well; make sure to scrub any PHI/passwords first.

- How do I foo?
- You just bar.

Files that aren't zero bytes ARE being tramsmitted ok.

This implies for me that our settings are valid for this connection.
However, I can't connect to this site from my own location so I'm relying on feedback from our client.

For example: I don't know for 100% that those empty files ARE being created and put in the right location.
Or that the filenames are compliant with the filename pattern we were given.

I will relay your answer to my client, hopefuly they can then apply some pressure on the other party in helping solve this.

Thanks for your answer.
