Default HTTP Sender Problems with threading

I have a channel running 5 threads with one http sender destination. Each send can take anywhere up to 30 seconds to process, so it is slow, however when running more than one thread I keep getting the error:

ERROR: Error connecting to HTTP server [IllegalStateException: Connection is still allocated]

Googling it a bit I noticed it's a java thing when you have multiple connections on the same sender. To get around that I thought I'd create 5 destinations all going to the same end point and use the filter to decide where each goes. The logic of the filter looks fine, however when I deploy the first destination works but the other 4 all stay in a state of unknown, they never actually start. All 5 destinations are identical, I used the clone button. The only change was one word in the filter to define which one to use.

So I guess two problems there, how do I get around the http error and why are the destinations stuck in unknown...

Thanks in advance,
Ian

Default

That is a known issue: MIRTH-4006

To get around it you can turn on destination queuing and crank up the queue threads, or simply return the channel processing threads to 1.

For your other issue, that's expected... the first time a destination deploys typically it won't have any status, until the first message is sent to it. So try sending a message that actually reaches your destinations (and isn't filtered out).

Always include what Mirth Connect version you're working with. Also include (if applicable) the code you're using and full stacktraces for errors (use CODE tags). Posting your entire channel is helpful as well; make sure to scrub any PHI/passwords first.

- How do I foo?
- You just bar.
