Default X12 850 Question

Hi,

I have a question for anyone that has every produced X12 850 Purchase Order files.

If I am sending multiple PO's in 1 batch file, does the file need only 1 set of ST/SE segments or does each different PO need their own set of these segments?

I.e.
Code:
ST
BEG
N1
PO1
CTT
SE
ST
BEG
N1
PO1
CTT
SE
ST
BEG
N1
PO1
CTT
SE
or
Code:
ST
BEG
N1
PO1
CTT
BEG
N1
PO1
CTT
BEG
N1
PO1
CTT
SE
Would the 1st example technically still be valid?

Thumbs up

if it is an EDI message then both remains valid. The way u create the batch file depends on the parser you are using on the receiver side to extract the data. So consider the mechanism used on the receiver side and create the batch file accordingly..
