Default HTTP Sender Response

I'm still very new to this so I'm sure it's easy but it's got me stumped. I have an http sender destination which has an error in it, problem is I can't see the error as it just changes to queued. I've tried adding something as simple as channelMap.put("Stage", "Response") to the response transformer, however that never even runs.

What am I doing wrong, how do I access the response and the error code/description?

Okay, do you know what the response will look like? If yes, then go to response transformer, paste your response in Inbound, select data -type and from there you can do a lot of things with the response.

The response transformer only runs when there's actually a response to transform. If your HTTP Sender isn't even successfully connecting to the endpoint to begin with, then obviously there would be no response.

If you want your response transformer to run all the time even when there's no response, set your response data types to Raw.

Always include what Mirth Connect version you're working with. Also include (if applicable) the code you're using and full stacktraces for errors (use CODE tags). Posting your entire channel is helpful as well; make sure to scrub any PHI/passwords first.

- How do I foo?
- You just bar.
