Post Custom Metadata - DB

Hello,

i search in Forum but i not find the answer that i was looking for.
My question is:

I have a production DB in postgres, with many many records. If i want to add a new custom metadata, does Mirth will add this new column in the older messages or this new metadata will be only applied in future messages?
If i add and deploy the channel there is no impact correct?

Hope i explain well.

Best Regards

Correct, metadata will only be collected from that point forward. Old messages will show a blank column for the new metadata.

Does anyone know if I can search for those old messages that contain a blank?

I can search for values that contain information and can search for values that contain a space " " BUT if the metadata column is completely blank - i can't find it in the message search.

Anyone else come across this?

They are actually stored as null in the db, and I do not think there is a way to search for them from the gui.
