Red face Creating RTF File from Mirth !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Experts,
This is realy a helpfull forum from MIrth for newbee like me. Thanx MirthCorp

I want to create a Rich text File from Mirth. Can I create such file... Most probably I am going to use javascript... Bcoz I am using one template & by reading that template I am going to create a RTF file. There are some Tags in that template , they will be get replaced with some value from database.

Can any buddy tell me... How should I proceed. I have doen soem R&D in java. Java cant directly create RTf files (With Font settings) , they use iText library to do this.

Can I embbed thirdParty Library in Mirth?

Your Prompt reply is awaited.

geraldb is an unknown quantity at this point

There is an option to output RTF files on the existing Document Writer connector. You can use HTML in your template to format the document.

Default Html To RTF

We are getting RTF in obx segment. We have a web application where we need to convert that to HTML and when the user makes changes and saves it back, we need to send the same to downstream systems in RTF format. Could you please let me know if documentwriter can be used to perform these rtf-->html-->rtf conversions?

Default rtf-->html-->rtf conversions

Sounds like there are several parts to this problem that you can work on separately. If I understand it correctly, you will receive an HL7v2 message with an rtf document embedded in it. Can you take that sample message and parse out the needed information and write it out to an html document and use the File writer to place it in the proper directory?

Then, can you take the user's http response and use that as input to a mirth http receiver where you can use the Document Writer connection to write out an rtf document which you can then use to populate another message going downstream if necessary?

Not the simplest set of interfaces but not unreasonable. Good luck and let us know how you make out with this.

We write out RTF documents using the HL7 ORU we receive from PowerScribe. I have a file writer destination and I am actually using the rtf "language" to create the document.

Code:
