Default Database Reader and Datatype

Hi, I am new to Mirth Connect and Javascript so this is very basic question. For my channel I have selected source as database reader (Oracle), with HL7v2 messages being stored in Oracle table. When I try to insert template in both filter and transformer, it only accepts XML format. I am unable to change it to HL7v2 format as Data type option is greyed out. Will mirth connect only accept XML datatype when reading from database?

Hi Isaac,
yes, reading from database, the input datatype is XML, because each row read from the database source is automatically parsed into XML from the source itself. So the inbound type of the transformer (and filter too) is always XML.

Hi Alessandro,

Thanks for your reply. I can now start exploring Mirth Connect in right direction.
