It'd be nice to run a certain program or script based on the number of queued messages.

i.e. if queued messages == threshold, then run shutdown --restart \\foriegnlistener

From personal experience and roadmap, I would say not before 2011 or end of 2010. Do not wait for it.

Default Basic Necessary Alert information

Wouldn't it be cool if Mirth would create an alert table with each of following fields:

1) Channel Name
2) Source/Destination Name
2) Interface Status - connected/listening/disconnected/down
3) Last Connect Time
4) Number of messages queued
5) Message Time Last Sent/Received

then the community could help create a system to monitor Mirth or at least have a mechanism to monitor Mirth for their individual implementation until such time as such a facility is built into Mirth.

I'd love to see the rate/speed of a channel / server.

How many messages an hour (or other unit of time) am I processing?

I agree with edvanbaak. I love seeing the mirth alert process being developed, and hope to see them soon...

One thing additional I would like to see is in the "Error matching field" the ability to filter messages that you don't want to recieve if these ""words" exists. I am a newb to Mirth, so this may be possible, but I haven't found it yet.

I see from the Mirth Connect road map that advanced alerting is likely to be included in version 3. Is that likely to be released in 2011?

Thanks,
Reuben

I would prefer LESS THAN X MESSAGES RECEIVED IN X AMOUNT OF TIME as opposed to no messages. Being able to schedule on particular days of the week is a really core required feature IMO.

Default Limit number of messages

A true alerting system, such as Nagios or ipMonitor is able to limit the number of alerts for each error and to allow configuration as to when a possible second, third, and final alert is sent, etc. Also, configuration based on severity of alert is important.
This should be a core feature with Mirth alerts. Otherwise, there is a very real risk of many repeat emails being sent for the same repeating error. That could create a backlog of emails, overload a system, etc.
It is just the nature of Mirth Connect that there is a high potential for repeat errors since there are many inter-dependencies that can cascade errors, etc. Please consider alert throttling as a core feature needed, not just a nice add-on. And can't find any answers anywhere that describe any way to limit the number of messages sent.

thanks

Default when will these alert features become available

Hi,

We are now at Mirth Connect version 2.1.1.
However, none of these features are yet available in Mirth Connect.
When will these features become available in Mirth Connect?
Which version of Mirth Connect will we see these new Alert features?

Baziz

Default Mirth Alerts

Any updates on the plans for adding additional alerts/monitoring abilities to Mirth Connect? @brendanh started this thread with a very nice wish list.

Thanks!
