Post Supporting multiple databases with Database Reader and Database Writer channels

I'm looking for some direction on supporting multiple databases with Database Reader and Writer channels. I have to support Oracle and Postgresql. Should I just keep 2 different sets of channels maintained for each possible backend database and just deploy the database specific channels depending on what the current backend is, or is there a way to store both sets of database specific sql in the same channel and determine which one should be used based on a properties file so that I only have a single install? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The latter is possible but you would have to JavaScript rather than a database writer.

OK, thanks. Sounds easy enough. I'm leaning towards the javascript implementation to reduce on the code duplication that would come from maintaining duplicate channels with custom SQL. Any downside/reason not to go with the javascript? Thanks.
