Question Can we change Backup output format?

Is it possible to use Mirth’s built in backup feature to save channel as an xml file, which can be easily imported into Mirth Connect? Mirth’s backup task saves files as a .wab file which cannot be imported into Mirth Connect, instead the .wab files must be restored into an appliance. Unfortunately, we would need a spare appliance to do the restore to verify that the channels configurations have been saved successfully.

The .wab file is really just a ZIP file, so if you've included "Mirth Connect Configuration" in the backup set, you can just unzip that, grab that XML file, and import that within Mirth Connect.

Always include what Mirth Connect version you're working with. Also include (if applicable) the code you're using and full stacktraces for errors (use CODE tags). Posting your entire channel is helpful as well; make sure to scrub any PHI/passwords first.

- How do I foo?
- You just bar.
