Question about load balancing Mirth. After reading some of the literature it looks to me like load balancing revolves around the appliances. Is there any way to achieve load balancing and/or clustering scenarios without appliances? Being primarily a microsoft shop, is it possible to leverage Windows failover clusters and/or other load balancing solutions, or in the very least, is it possible to implement the Mirth load balancing service without the appliances?

I've been doing some testings with this scenario: 3 virtual machines, one running crossroads for ubuntu balancing the LLP traffic to the other two. If you have more than a node, you can even get HA.
