DICOM Routing + DB query

Hi All
Im writing a MIRTH channel to receive DICOM images (CT), perform DB queries to check data and determine destination, then send.

I have a protoype working but: the DB is queries for every CT slice/image: I would much rather do the query once per association OR per series OR per study.

Are any of the above solutions possible?
