Repeating data is not parsed as repeating

Consider an HL7 v2.3 PID segment. PID-19 has this value:

1234567^FOO~98787654^BAR

Problem: this element isn't parsed as a repeating segment. Here's the transformed message:

   
<PID.19>
    <PID.19.1>1234567</PID.19.1>
    <PID.19.2>FOO~98787654</PID.19.2>
    <PID.19.3>BAR</PID.19.3>
</PID.19>

Any ideas on how to get Mirth to treat this field as repeating?

Here's the whole message, just in case:

Go to the source tab for your channel, and under channel tasks, "Edit Filter"

On the far right, click on the Message Templates tab

Click the properties button

check the option "Handle Repetitions"

Your world is now happy
