Default HL7 message appending into one long line.

Hi,

I have an outbound file writer (appending HL7 messages to a file).

All the messages are appended into one single line when I try to view it using vi.

How can I add a message break into the transformer?

Thanks in advance.

Mirth Connect v3.2.0.7628 on VM Windows writing to IBM RS6000 UNIX.

You probably just think it's one long line. Note that per the specifications, the segment delimiter for HL7 v2.x is a carriage return (\r). If your text editor doesn't show CRs as line breaks then it will probably look like it's all on one line.

Always include what Mirth Connect version you're working with. Also include (if applicable) the code you're using and full stacktraces for errors (use CODE tags). Posting your entire channel is helpful as well; make sure to scrub any PHI/passwords first.

- How do I foo?
- You just bar.

Hi Nick,

I also tried writing to a Windows file and used FileZilla or CoreFTP to transfer the records.
Once I get into UNIX and used vi, it still shows the messages being concatenated into one line. Is there a way to just add the LF into the transformer?

Thanks,

On the destination in the "Template" area at the bottom, hit <ENTER> twice after ${message.encodedData} (or what ever you are using as the template.)

It was as simple as that!! Thanks Kirby!
I only needed to hit <ENTER> once after the ${message.encodedData}. I just
didn't have that in there.
