3: Missing opening <VT> or closing <1c 0d> bytes
4: "Mangled" transforms of raw HL7 ACKs to XML in response transformer
Seeing things like "MSHSH", "MSAA", "MA", "MSH^~\&MSH", "MSH^MSH"

I turned off keep connection open and have not seen recurrence of items 3 and 4 since then, but continue to see the first two problems.

Also upgraded java from 1.8.66 to 1.8.91, and postgres from 9.3 to 9.5, so things are a bit muddled.

I am likely going to try to roll back to 3.3.1 after hours tonight as this is a significant problem.

Edit to add that I discovered that the value in MSH-10 that I was sending on one of the channels was invalid - it ended with a ^. That was fixed, but I continue to see errors on this channel and others that did not have the carat at the end of MSH-10.

Default

Rolled back to v3.3.1 and postgreSQL 9.3, left java at 1.8.91, and the errors appear to be gone.
