Default empty XML tags

how can I make mirth E4X to return an empty xmltag and not a self-closing tag

ie:

tmp['MyTag'] = '';

output is
<MyTag />

I want it to output
<MyTag></MyTag>

Unfortunately, I don't think this is possible with e4x. You might have to post-process it with something else to convert them.

Yes, I had to do this for a client that wanted it (against the rules of XML) and it was a pain. It CAN be done though.
