Lightbulb Best route for converting Word document reports to hl7 ORU?

Hi everyone,

Im in need to convert a ton of Word Documents that already have MRN,accession, etc... to HL7.

Will the best way be convert it to pdf then go to hl7?

Looking for some expert advice on easiest way to go.

Im looking into a file reader (pdf, binary), extract the contents (base64) then create message and put info on OBX5.5??

Any ideas?

I believe you can convert right to encoded RTF? What's the requirement? Does it need to be PDF?
