Post Channel creation fails in “Mirth connect” connected to an Azure DB

I have successfully connected "Mrth Connect 3.5" with an Azure DB. But when i try to create and save a channel i`m getting an internal server error as below from Mirth.

Quote:
Caused by: com.mirth.connect.client.core.api.PersistenceExcep tion:
### Error rolling back transaction. Cause: java.sql.SQLException: Invalid state, the Connection object is closed.

Below is the Mirth Connect Server Manager database connection string. I`m confident that this connection string is correct as Mirth Connect Server Manager turns to orange in color when i try connect to the Azure DB using these settings. So what might be causing the error.

Code:
jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://**.database.windows.net;DatabaseName=**

Were you able to determine the cause of this, or better yet, how to fix it?

I was able to setup Mirth to use an Azure SQL db as the internal "mirthdb" database, and all tables were created successfully. Once I went in to create my first channel, I get the same error as the OP. I am able to perform other operations in Mirth (add users, add channel groups, etc.) and the data is written as expected to SQL. I have NOT used any external drivers at this point.
