Default Determine segment relation

Can someone tell me how to determine a segment is associated to which segment. For example, NTE can appear multiple places in a HL7 message (after ORC or OBR or after OBX), using msg['NTE'] can not tell which seg. the current NTE is after. Is there a good way to do that so you can do things in the order and can get previous seg information that is located before current NTE?

You can transform it using the "strict parser", which generates a grouped XML.

Or you can itereate over all segments, detect "head group segmens" (as OBR o OBX), and then search for the next sibling NTE
