Default File Reader Queue

I have a file reader channel. It reads in a file from folder A, does some processing, deletes the file in folder A and either writes to folder B or folder C. This is working correctly. However, I only have about 150,000 files in folder A but my channel is showing well over a million in queue.

Any idea what would cause this?

Side note: This channel only handles .txt files. I have an identical channel that handles .xml files. That channel does not have the same issues.

I can only assume that either the files aren't being removed/moved, or possibly the channel is processing again before the first process is complete?

Likely the first thing. A polling channel won't start a new poll if the previous poll has not finished.

That is what I thought as far as the polling but the files are being processed. I can see the file count going down. And I am not so sure that is correct for the polling. I changed it from 10 minutes to 10 hours and the queue stopped growing. I don't know if something has changed over the years or not.

Is the Source "Max Processing Threads" set to 1? Anything higher could cause weird issues like that...
