We are very pleased to report that several NHS Trusts are using Mirth Connect to integrate their local applications (e.g., PAS to Cardiology) and in one instance completely moving off a SeeBeyond platform and using Mirth Connect as the core Interface Engine for all hospital messaging.
The NHS National Programme for IT is currently going through a reassessment and re-planning phase. Many Acute and Primary Care Trusts are evaluating local options for achieving interoperability. Mirth Connect is increasingly being evaluated as a low cost/high value solution. Jonathan Edwards, Gartner’s European healthcare research director, said that in 2010/11: “NHS trusts will be investing in low-cost interoperability solutions that enable then to share critical data between GP, community and acute care organisations." Early adopters of Mirth in the UK are demonstrating that Mirth Connect and other Mirth Corporation’s tools are well suited for these challenges. In the coming weeks Mirth Corp will be visiting clients, learning about customer needs, meeting NHS National Programme for IT representatives, meeting partners, and building a Mirth Community in the UK. In addition, Mirth Corporation is organizing training scheduled for March 2010. This will consist of a 5 day certification course conducted by an engineer from Irvine, CA. Lastly, to better server our UK customers Mirth formed a London-based limited company. Please contact us if you would like more information regarding this exciting new frontier for Mirth and its community.

Hi Jacob,
I am IT in a private teleradiology company. We have a lot of NHS work and one thing that we want to do is introduce Mirth to our NHS clients. We already use it successfully in Ireland and Australia. Do you know of any NHS case studies around that we could use to sell this more vigourously? Thanks Lesd0 |

Is Mirth connect and Mirth Match application have to be used together to send and receive HL7 messages ?
I am looking at sending a HL7 message and converting it in to a XML and message and the vice versa of it. Please help me in understanding more about Mirth and its tools Thanks, Raghu Raghuveer Software Developer |

This is a crucial time for the NHS interoperability market as the Dept. Of Health launch an Interoperability Toolkit and move from monolithic to local integration for solutions.
I am aware of Mirth usage to front individual applications, and in fact have some third parties using it in my Trust's architecture at the moment. My question is that if someone wants to use as the enterprise integration solution what UK services are available? Do you have a UK based partner for Consultancy and Deployment? Do you have any enterprise deployments in the NHS already? I am ICT Director in Acute Provider and interested in options. Mark |
