Default Need Understanding for Mirth UI

Hello,

I am a newbee to Mirth.
I am trying to create a new channel which can read from the database.
When i create the channel I have to fields to put in the javascript code

The first field is called Javascript
The second field is called post-processing Javascript.
Then there is a separate tab called scripts where i can define the javascript code.

Is there a difference in these fields?
Which one is advisableto use?

User guide is good starting point...

in summary:
1. Setup an channel, source connector as Database reader (with the SQL SELECT query.)
2. With in the inbound transformer, you can map each fields (selected by the above query)
