If channel metaData is missing, a channel will fail to deploy with no error message

    Details

    • Type: Bug Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: Minor Minor
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Affects Version/s: None
    • Fix Version/s: 3.7.0, 3.6.2
    • Component/s: Server
    • Labels:
      None

      Description

If for some reason metaData for a given channel does not exist in the core.channelMeta data configuration entry, attempting to deploy the channel will have no effect and no error message will appear in the server log.

      Reproduction Steps

      • Create a channel
      • Edit the 'configuration' table in the Connect database where category = 'core' and name = 'channelMetaData'. Remove the entry in the map for the channel that was created
      • Attempt to deploy the channel

Expected Outcome: The channel deploys successfully and the missing metaData is auto-generated OR at the very least, an error appears in the server log.

Actual Outcome: The channel does not deploy and no error message is provided.
