The Mirth Match connector is an extension for Mirth Connect that allows it to communicate with the Mirth Match Server.

Installing the Mirth Match connector

  1. Download Mirth Match connector for Mirth Connect 2.2.0 or Mirth Match connector for Mirth Connect 2.2.1.
  2. Stop the Mirth Connect server.
  3. The zip file contains a folder named "mirthmatch". Place this folder in the following location:

Using the Mirth Match connector

Properties

Add a new channel and edit the destination tab.

  • Address: The IP address of the Mirth Match server host machine. If Mirth Match is running on the same machine as Mirth Connect, enter 127.0.0.1.
  • Port: The port of the Mirth Match server host machine. This value is usually 8888.
  • Use Authentication: Whether to use authentication when connecting to the Mirth Match server. Not currently necessary with MirthMatch.
  • Username: The username to connect with when using authentication. Not currently necessary with MirthMatch.
  • Password: The password to connect with when using authentication. Not currently necessary with MirthMatch.
  • Entity Domain: The entity container. Mirth Match resolves all of the entities within an Entity Domain to a single identifier.
  • Identifier Domain: The identifier domain in which the entity resides. This corresponds to an authority that issues identifiers. This value may be either selected from the option box or inserted from the source using a mapping variable.
  • Entity ID: The entity ID to submit. This field should be filled with a variable that corresponds to the identifier for the Entity (Patient, Provider, etc) being sent to Mirth Match. For example, in the case of an ADT message, this field could be mapped to a variable that contains the value taken from PID.3.1 or perhaps PID.4.1.
  • Traits
    • Name: The label for the trait.
    • Description: A description of the trait.
    • Type: The datatype of the trait.
    • Required: Indicates if a value for this trait is required when submitting a reqest
    • Value: The mapped value of the trait. This could be set to a constant, or mapped to a variable from the Destination Mappings list.

Usage

  1. Type in your Mirth Match server address and port in the Address and Port fields.
  2. Click the Get Entity Domains button. This will populate the Entity Type and Domain drop-down boxes.
  3. Select the Entity Domain that you want to submit
  4. Select your Identifier Domain that you would like to submit your request to, or enter your own in the adjacent text field.
  5. Enter your trait values by typing in the value into the Value field, or drag-and-drop mappings from the Destination Mappings. Make sure to press Enter after entering a value so that it is saved.
